So I picked Carmen up early from daycare today, which I never do. Jake usually picks her up but she had a dermatologist appointment so mommy got to spend the afternoon with her. As we were driving back to town Carmen had a few things to talk about:Carmen, "Where's daddy?"
Mommy, Daddy's still at work honey."
Carmen, "How come daddy's at work?"
Mommy, "He's making money."
Carmen, "Mommy where's daddy's money?"
Carmen, "Mommy where's daddy's money?"
Mommy, "Mommy spent it all."
Carmen, "Oh my........GOODNESS!!!"
I laughed so hard, she had never said that before. This girl has a lot to learn about money and shopping! She is growing up and maturing so fast. I really think being in daycare has helped her.
For those of you that are curious as to her appt today, no scraping was done. The doc was concerned about the quantity of lesions she now has and we are trying a very strong creme. Thank goodness for insurance b/c a 4gm tube costs $300. I really hope her immune system kicks in and takes care of the virus soon. For all of those out of the loop Carmen has had Mulluscum Contagiosum since last December. Basically it's a viral skin infection that causes wart like lesions. Like all viruses you just have to let it run its course but there are a few treatments that help and maybe prevent it from spreading. If left untreated it can take years for the bumps to disappear and the virus to be gone. We have tried freezing them twice, scraped them once and now are trying the cream. I don't mind her having them, they do tend to itch, but they continue to spread. They started on her chest and now have spread up her neck and on her chin. I really don't want them on her face. Needless to say my sweet daughter loved going to the doctor before December, now she freaks out just walking in the door.
In other medical news, Corby was running at school last week, tripped and fell and broke his hand. He just had a scrape and they didn't even have any inclination that it was broken until he woke up the next morning with it black & blue and swollen. So he now has a pretty cool camouflage cast for 3 weeks.

The vet was out today to check our favorite cow, Rosie. My mom had been checking on her and it was pretty odd that she wouldn't get up and she let mom pet her. So they called the vet out thinking that maybe she had a stillborn calf, but she just has an upper respiratory infection. The surprise came when we found out wasn't pregnant. We have only had two calves out of 24 so far, we are wondering if our bull isn't doing his job like he is supposed to. I guess they are going to test him, but that would be a bummer to have purchased a broken bull.
The chickens are doing good about 2 weeks until we plan on butchering. Let me know if you wanna help!
i think i'll have to pass on helping butcher chickens:) thanks for the offer though! hahaha:)
