Creative streak!!

I have always loved making crafts, I'm not good at it, but I love playing around none the less. I like to start with huge projects that I never finish. Here I actually finished 2 in one day! I had a very creative day yesterday and thought I would show off some of my crafts. Please leave feedback and let me know how I could improve as I would love to continue making these things for gifts.
Ok I didn't actually make everthing in these first two! Carmen was invited to a birthday party for two special little brothers. I was informed by their mom that they didn't need much and not to spend a lot. So I got my creative juices flowing and was proud that I came up with these. I purchased sand pails and filled them with swimming goggles, a beach ball & a beach towel.

I've always loved the cute little korker bows, but found most of the prices to be out of my league, especially when you're talking about my 3 year old. She won't leave anything in her hair all day long and we're lucky to even find it once it's out. I can only imagine where we would find an $8 barrette. So I bought the supplies and made my first one. I could really have a lot of fun playing with different color combinations. I need to work with the shape a little more because it's not quite round enough for me.
Last but not least is the baby gift I made for my pastor's new daughter. The onesie says Little Princess. I'm gonna make a tutu for Carmen next and I think the next onesie I do might be a little different but I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out, being my first one with no instructions!

Hungry???

Ok I know, I know it's dangerous to go grocery shopping when you're hungry but I just HAD to pick up a few sale things from Hy-vee. I did pick up some good buys but I got myself into trouble by buying things that weren't on my list. Eventhough I brought leftovers tofor lunch today, I couldn't resist the $3.99 sale they had for chinese or the $1.00 peanut butter panic ice cream or the $1.57/lb Brach's pick a mix candy. I now have used all of todays calories on one unhealthy meal and I have 1 1/2 lbs of candy sitting on my desk begging me to eat it!
And now it's clear as to why I didn't win Biggest Loser, my motivation is mixed up. I'm motivated to eat and not motivated to exercise. Is there a medical term for that? Cause I sure think it's some kind of sickness for me and lots of other people out there. In related news my mom & my dad were both named Biggest Losers at church!! I think mom lost 18lbs and dad 15lbs, I am proud of them but still think they must have cheated!

Pure cuteness!

So I picked Carmen up early from daycare today, which I never do. Jake usually picks her up but she had a dermatologist appointment so mommy got to spend the afternoon with her. As we were driving back to town Carmen had a few things to talk about:

Carmen, "Where's daddy?"
Mommy, Daddy's still at work honey."
Carmen, "How come daddy's at work?"
Mommy, "He's making money."
Carmen, "Mommy where's daddy's money?"
Mommy, "Mommy spent it all."
Carmen, "Oh my........GOODNESS!!!"

I laughed so hard, she had never said that before. This girl has a lot to learn about money and shopping! She is growing up and maturing so fast. I really think being in daycare has helped her.

For those of you that are curious as to her appt today, no scraping was done. The doc was concerned about the quantity of lesions she now has and we are trying a very strong creme. Thank goodness for insurance b/c a 4gm tube costs $300. I really hope her immune system kicks in and takes care of the virus soon. For all of those out of the loop Carmen has had Mulluscum Contagiosum since last December. Basically it's a viral skin infection that causes wart like lesions. Like all viruses you just have to let it run its course but there are a few treatments that help and maybe prevent it from spreading. If left untreated it can take years for the bumps to disappear and the virus to be gone. We have tried freezing them twice, scraped them once and now are trying the cream. I don't mind her having them, they do tend to itch, but they continue to spread. They started on her chest and now have spread up her neck and on her chin. I really don't want them on her face. Needless to say my sweet daughter loved going to the doctor before December, now she freaks out just walking in the door.

In other medical news, Corby was running at school last week, tripped and fell and broke his hand. He just had a scrape and they didn't even have any inclination that it was broken until he woke up the next morning with it black & blue and swollen. So he now has a pretty cool camouflage cast for 3 weeks.

The vet was out today to check our favorite cow, Rosie. My mom had been checking on her and it was pretty odd that she wouldn't get up and she let mom pet her. So they called the vet out thinking that maybe she had a stillborn calf, but she just has an upper respiratory infection. The surprise came when we found out wasn't pregnant. We have only had two calves out of 24 so far, we are wondering if our bull isn't doing his job like he is supposed to. I guess they are going to test him, but that would be a bummer to have purchased a broken bull.

The chickens are doing good about 2 weeks until we plan on butchering. Let me know if you wanna help!

Yummy chops!

I just had some wonderful pork chops on the grill tonight and thought I would share the marinade with ya'll. I used 3/4c soy sauce and 3/4c italian dressing mixed together in a ziploc bag and then added the chops to marinate over night. Oh boy were these ever yummy, I tend not to like soy sauce but this combination tasted somewhat of a terriyaki taste. Try it you surely won't be disappointed. Oh and for dessert the kids and I had this

and daddy missed out! I hope you all are having a wonderful week.

I have a few prayer requests for today; first for a one month old little boy who passed away after his grandma placed him to sleep on a couch. This family needs to be comforted during this difficult time, not only do they deal with the grief of losing him but also the guilt that comes with these accidents. God will ease her pain & guilt, I am living proof of that.

David & Samuel were born this past week in Omaha, there are the sons of my pastor's friends. These miracle little boys weighed 1 lb 1oz and 1lb 6oz respectively. They have a long battle ahead of them, please keep them and their families in your prayers.

Thanks!

Oh no what do I do now!!

I just received my very first blog awards, yeah not 1 to ease me into this thing, but 2. Thank you, Lisa I love you and your blog Soaked to my Soul. I'm flattered that you chose me, I didn't think most people cared what I wrote about. It's not much substance, just pics of my super cute kids!

The awards are as follows:

Your Blog is Fabulous

The rules for this award are as follows:

1.List 7 random facts about yourself

2.Pass the award onto 7 others.

Honesty award
The rules for this awards is:
1. Confess 5 things you're addicted to.
2. Pass the award onto 5 other deserving bloggers.

I'm gonna do this a lil different than some others have done it, since I don't know many bloggers I'm gonna pass this on to all of them!

1. I have been married to my best friend & soul mate for 7 1/2 years

2. My mom is one of my best friends

3. I wish that I could afford to be a SAHM, being a mommy is my most favorite thing in the world.

4. I have the most annoying dog, he's a Jack Russell Terrier, need I say more. I love him anyway

5. I love to play in the snow, sledding, skiing, snowmobiling

6. I would have a dozen children if Jake & God would let me! Biological & adopted!

7. I love living in the country

My addictions

1. Dr. Pepper - I have tried unsuccessfully numerous times to kick this habit.

2. Sweet tea --I formed this habit while trying to kick the addiction in number 1

3. Playing Rockband, it's fun and it's good quality time with the fam!

4.Farmtown on Facebook, well Facebook in general, but I'm really liking being a farmer right now.

5.Shopping-- I'm not talking grocery shopping or household shopping. I mean a new shirt or pair of shoes shopping. What girl doesn't like to splurge on something for herself, for me it's better than therapy! Now that I'm a mom, especially to a little girl, I tend to splurge on cutesie little dresses and shoes for her instead of me.

Okay so here goes the awards,
1. Chelle, my mom at Rebuilding our life
Wow I'm a loser with only 4 friends ;) Have fun with this ladies and I know two of you have already received them but you gals rock so much you deserve double awards!
